This day is a national holiday marking the birthday of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand, who was born on 5th December 1927. Greatly loved and respected, the occasion of his royal birthday is a time when his subjects rejoice in demonstrating their affection and loyalty towards him. Religious rights are held. Houses and public buildings are decorated with flags, lights and portraits of him. The whole nation prays to the Holy Triple Gem to bless him with good health and hapiness.
